SI Interns and Fellows in the U.S. Capitol Dome

On Tuesday December 8, 2015 Smithsonian Institution fellows and interns participated in a tour of the historic U.S. Capitol building. There they watched a thirteen minute orientation video outlining the role of the Capitol throughout U.S. history. Afterwards, they participated in a walking tour of the historic Capitol, where they saw the original House and Senate Galleries, the original Supreme Court Chamber, and the inside of the Capitol Dome.

Interns and fellows learned many new facts about the Capitol building, such as its dome is one of two cast iron domes in the world, and were able to ask their own questions.
