Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) post doctoral fellow Dr. Diana Sharpe teamed up with two colleagues to capture fish in gill nets and beach seines. The team studied how the influx of the Peacock Bass population has affected the native fish population.  Of the 1,471 fish they netted, only 25 were native fish.

Their findings were recently written about in the Smithsonian Insider, which you can read here.
