Every year, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton holds a job fair for DC residents to meet employers from DC, Maryland, and Virginia. There, attendees can speak to representatives from a variety of sectors, including non-profits, private businesses, and law enforcement, and take a hold of numerous job opportunities. This year’s Annual Job Fair was held on Wednesday 8/2/17 at the Walter Washington Convention Center. Departments including the Office of Equal Employment and Minority Affairs (OEEMA), the Office of Human Resources (OHR), the Office of Fellowships and Internships (OFI), the Smithsonian Exhibits (SIE), the Office of Government Relations (OGR) and the National Zoological Park (NZP) represented the Smithsonian Institution at the event. Representatives from each area welcomed attendees at their booths and answered any questions that anyone had about the different programs or the Smithsonian itself. The Smithsonian representatives then had the opportunity to take a group photo with Congresswoman Norton.
