Intern Ebubechi Okpalugo explores all the Smithsonian has to offer

This August, Ebubechi Okpalugo hopped across The Pond – she’s a medical student at Pembroke College, Oxford – to be an intern with Scientific Collections International, a consortium of collections-holding organizations headquartered at the Smithsonian.

She skipped between Smithsonian museums searching for collections of scientific specimens, with stops at the Museum of Natural History, the National Zoo, and the Museum of American History.

After getting the lay of the land, she jumped into researching collections – specifically related to medical research and the evolution of the human brain – and writing several blog articles that will be posted on SciColl’s blog in October.

Her internship was made possible through an initiative supported by the Smithsonian UK Charitable Trust.
