Dr. Iliana Chollett rides aboard a research boat in the Caribbean.

The Smithsonian Marine Station at Fort Pierce (SMS) post-doctoral fellow, Dr. Iliana Chollett contributed to the Caribbean Coastal Marine Productivity Program (CARICOMP), a program used to monitor the health of Carribean coastal ecosystems.

In a recent article on Smithsonian Newsdesk, Iliana talked about the changes seen in these ecosystems, such as decreased visibility, and how future research will provide information on the effect of global warming on the waters.
