Did you know that the Smithsonian only displays 2% of its collection in the museums at any given time? Over 40% of the Smithsonian Collection is housed at the Museum Support Center (MSC).

On Tuesday 1/23/2018, Interns from the Office of Fellowships and Internships (OFI), National Postal Museum (NPM), National Air and Space Museum (NASM) and the National Museum of American History (NMAH) went on a tour to the Smithsonian Museum Support Center (MSC)! During the tour, the interns visited the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) collection of whales and dolphins. While on the tour, the interns learned about the Narwhals, how the Smithsonian acquires the whale and dolphin specimens and current research being done with whale earwax.
