Since its beginning in 1793, the United States Capitol Building is an architectural achievement that also houses a collection of historical American art. Housing the U.S. Congress, the Capitol Building is a symbol of the American people and their government.

On Tuesday 02/20/18, interns and fellows had the opportunity to tour the U.S. Capitol. The tour included the Rotunda, numerous artworks of American history, statues of prominent individuals from each state, the 1810 to 1860 Supreme Court Chambers, and much more. The twelve fellows and interns in attendance not only got to experience the historic building but to network with other academic appointees affiliated with the Smithsonian.

Thank you to everyone who could attend!
