Smithsonian Institution Archives Internship Opportunity

If you are interested in archival preservation and conservation work then these internship opportunities are for you.

Public/Digital History Internship 

During this internship through the Institutional History Program of the Smithsonian Institution Archives (SIA), interns will be assisting in the preparation of oral history collection materials. Interns will be working with digital audio, photograph, transcript and finding aid files, will learn about digital preservation, and will learn how to work with website templates. Applications for this internship are due 3/15/18.

Preservation of Oversized Collections Internship 

Interns will work with oversized collections in the Archives’ map cases. Interns will learn and work on preservation activities such as conducting inventories, creating special enclosures for selected materials and processing collections. Applications for this internship are due 3/15/18.
