A sea cucumber on the ocean floor

Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) Research Associate and invertebrate zoologist Dr. Christopher Mah explores the importance of sea cucumbers to the ocean ecosystem. In a recent National Geographic magazine article, Mah explained the benefits that sea cucumber decomposition has on the surrounding animals such as fish and coral.
