Unlocking The Secrets Of Migration In Dragonflies

Posted on Dec 19, 2018 by in The OFI Blog |

Smithsonian National Zoological Park (NZP) fellow Dr. Michael Hallworth is part of a research team that recently published the results of a comprehensive study about the dragonfly’s full life cycle. This study is the first of its kind and the first to uncover the migration patterns of North American Dragonflies, the specific species being the green darner. With global insect populations declining this insight into these insects biology and migrations will provide applicable and useful information.

The NZP blog recently posted a piece about the paper Dr. Halloworth helped write, which you can see here.
