On Monday 5/13/19, 10 students from the University of Houston (UH) arrived to begin their internships across the Smithsonian Institution. This partnership between the Smithsonian and the University of Houston began in 2015. Each selected student receives funding from the University of Houston to live in Washington, D.C. for 4 weeks. This year, students were given funding to stay an additional week, totaling a 5-week internship opportunity. Upon returning to the University of Houston, students are expected to create a final project to display at Undergraduate Research Day.
