Flaky Fish

Posted on Jul 16, 2019 by in The OFI Blog |

The Smithsonian’s YES! (Youth Engagement through Science) program allows high school students the chance to intern and learn at the Smithsonian. National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) intern Maiss is one of them. She studied the mislabeling of fish in the Caribbean from their DNA and the negative effects that stem from it. Some of which being the potential for over-fishing and problems at restaurants.

NMNH wrote a blog and filmed a video of Maiss’s experience here.
