Going to Bat for the Family

Ohio State University Behavioral Ecologist and Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) Research Associate Dr. Gerald Carter is part of a team that recently published an article in the Journal of Animal Ecology. In this paper, Gerald and his colleagues describe how, much like humans, bats tend to take care of  family members that get sick. 

This research may help researchers better understand how pathogens spread in other social species. You can read more here
