NMNH Exhibits Audio-Visual and Lighting Department Internship
LOCATION: National Museum of Natural History (10th & Constitution Ave. NW)
DEPARTMENT: Exhibits AV and Lighting
DESCRIPTION: Intern will shadow Exhibits AV & Lighting staff learning the fundamentals of how a multimedia department operates within a national museum. This opportunity will teach the fundamentals of design, maintenance and technical aspects of the NMNH multimedia department.
QUALIFICATIONS: AV & Lighting is looking for a candidate who is interested in pursuing a multimedia career or in overall museum studies and would like to learn the AV & Lighting side of the exhibits world.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Intern will learn how the AV & Lighting staff participates in the development and implementation of new exhibits within the museum. Intern will also gain knowledge in AV & Lighting systems, maintenance and management of current live exhibits throughout the museum. He/she will be assigned their own project assisting in the data management and overall organization of the AV & Lighting Department.
TIMETABLE: Mainly summer internship but can start any time (dates flexible based on availability); minimum of two months, open to longer term.
